Dakona formed in the mid-'90s when Ryan McAllister and his cousin-german, John Biondolillo, teamed up with their friends Shane Dueck and Brook Winstanley. Spending their free time rehearsing in an old b, Dakona played any gig they could get, including opening for a sexuality activity healer, something that surprised McAllister. When he and the rest of Dakona showed up for the gig, they saw a mike. Believing it was a minimalist band, they didn't think anything of it. When the sexuality therapist hit the stage, Dakona found it amusing. Things went uphill from thither. Dakona formed a inexpugnable following throughout Canada and circumferent moulding towns. Their D.I.Y. function ethic paid off a class later when they released "Honorable Enough for Me" to honorable reviews. In 2000, they followed it up with "Ordinary Heroes." X-Files star to play war reporter

'The X-Files' star Gillian Anderson is to trifle the lead role in a young biopic of the war correspondent Martha Gellhorn.

Variety reports that Anderson's production companionship, Fiddlehead Productions, has acquired the rights to the book 'Gellhorn: A Twentieth-Century Life'.

Writer Sharman Macdonald, the mother of Keira Knightley, will adapt the book for the screen.

Gellhorn covered conflicts from the Spanish Civil War to the Vietnam War and was at one stage married to Ernest Hemmingway.

Anderson can currently be seen on Irish cinema screens in 'The X-Files: I Want to Believe'.

Good Charlotte - Madden Harlow Is My One True Love

GOOD CHARLOTTE rocker JOEL MADDEN has hailed his three-month-old daughter HARLOW WINTER as his "one and only true love" - without his girlfriend NICOLE RICHIE even meriting a mention.

The singer made the confession to the 1,700-strong crowd at his New York concert at Queen's College on Wednesday (16Apr08), as Richie, his partner of 15 months, looked on from the side of the stage.

After performing hit Hold On (If You Feel Like Letting Go), he told the audience, "You know, no matter how many beautiful girls there are in this audience, I must confess that three months ago, I had a little baby girl, and she's my one and only true love."

Madden also revealed Harlow was a big fan of British rockers The Cure - and dedicated their 1989 track Love Song to the tot.

He said, "Before I left on tour... I used to sing songs to (Harlow) every day. And there's a band she really likes, it's called The Cure. Big Cure fan. So I've learned all their songs and we'll sing one tonight. This is called 'Love Song.'"

Get Carried Away With 'Sex & The City: The Movie'

Does the sight of a Manolo Blahnik shoe leave you teary-eyed and nostalgic? When someone says the word ‘cosmopolitan’, do you immediately head for the nearest wine bar? If so, your prayers, and those of millions of TV fans across the world, will be answered when the hit series Sex & The City makes the jump from small to big screen this summer.

The idea of a movie had been kicked around by producers ever since the series ended in 2004. However, the project collapsed when Kim Cattrall pulled out, rumoured to be unhappy with her proposed salary for the film. A deal was struck in 2007, three years after the show had finished, and production could begin with Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte all ready to be revived. Whilst the filming locations were, of course, the streets of New York, some beach scenes had been filmed in Malibu, California, and the world’s paparazzi were out in force, trying to get a shot that would reveal some of the under-wraps plot.

Of course, all four stars will be returning, as well as Chris Noth as Mr. Big (whom we saw rekindle his romance with Carrie in the show’s final episode). The men in the girls’ lives will also make an appearance, with Smith (Jason Lewis), Steve (David Eigenberg), Harry (Evan Handler) and camp confidant Stanford (Willie Garson) all present and correct. Magda, Bitsy Von Muffling and Enid Frick also feature in the film. The movie is directed by Michael Patrick King, who directed 10 episodes of the series, and wrote the finale.

The plot has been drip-fed to fans through a couple of trailers. We find Carrie engaged to Mr. Big (or John, as we now know), and assuming that once the girls had found their ‘happy endings’, that would be the end of the story. However, the endings do not turn out as expected. There’s a hitch with the wedding, Charlotte falls pregnant, Steve betrays Miranda, and Samantha may not be as committed to Smith as she once had thought.

Will it be wedding bells for Carrie & Big?
As for new additions, the biggest would be Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls), who will be playing Carrie’s personal assistant. Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg, will appear in a cameo, although the same cannot be said for Victoria Beckham, whom was offered a cameo in the film but had to turn it down due to schedule conflicts with the Spice Girls’ reunion.

It’s likely that Mr. Bloomberg was not best pleased that the world premiere took place in Leicester Square, London, and not the show’s birthplace of New York. However, it’s unlikely that this brief show of disloyalty will dissuade the legions of followers of the fashionable four to head down to their cinemas and revisit some old friends!

Latoya leaves Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack

Latoya has go the latest housemate to be evicted from 'Big Crony: Fame Hijack'.
The housemates were only made aware of the shock eviction last nighttime when presenter Dermot O'Leary interrupted their picture show night to tell them that Latoya would be leaving the house.
The dancer was evicted after circus performer Genus Emilia beat her in the world vote.
Totally of the housemates, take out for John and Susan Anthony, testament now face the populace suffrage ahead of Fri night's constructive eviction.
John is guaranteed a place in the final after winning resistance from the other evictions by successfully completing a job, piece Marcus Antonius simply received ace nomination.

Former Blue star Ryan charged with assault

Former boyband vocaliser Gypsy Rose Lee Ryan has been charged with an attack on a cab number one wood, UK police take confirmed.
